Are you thinking about starting a business, but wish you had a little more background in the fundamentals? Check out the Entrepreneur Certificate Program at SPC!

St. Petersburg College, in partnership with SCORE Pinellas, is offering an Entrepreneur’s Certificate program. Any member of active military or veteran, from any branch of service, and their immediate family members can participate in this certificate program.

Upon completion of this accelerated entrepreneur’s education program, you will have a much better foundation in the basic business principles needed to start a successful business. You will also receive a document certifying that you have completed this program from St. Petersburg College.

Besides the immediate benefits to you, we expect that the education you receive will give potential lenders and suppliers to your business greater confidence in your business success and make them more willing to do business with you.

For more information about this certificate program, go to www.scorepinellas.org (veteran’s page) or call SCORE at (727) 532-6800.

Have you thought about starting a new business? Are you active duty military, or a veteran, or in their immediate family? Come to the SCORE EXPO October 6!

Are you one of the 40 percent of active military and veterans who have thought about starting your own business? If you are, join SCORE October 6 at the first Tampa Bay area Entrepreneur’s EXPO exclusively for active military, veterans and immediate family. You will find the EXPO at the St. Petersburg Marriott, 12600 Roosevelt Boulevard in St. Petersburg, from 9 AM to 4 PM. It’s open to all branches of service.

Classes will be presented at 10 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM and 2 PM teaching the nuances of entrepreneurship. Throughout the day, you will be able to meet with knowledgeable and experienced SCORE mentors. They can help you develop your idea for a business, start the process of building a business plan, or help you with other questions you have about starting or growing a business.

Our keynote speaker will be retired General Lloyd W. “Fig” Newton, who was the first black pilot to fly with the Thunderbirds aerial demonstration team. Since his retirement, General Newton has provided leadership to a number of companies including Goodyear and Pratt & Whitney, been selected as a senior military advisor to the Obama administration, and been chosen to participate in the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships.
